The Opportunity
ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ Lutheran College is seeking an experienced Print Room Officer who is responsible for the day-to-day operation and smooth running of the College’s Print Room. Working in the College’s dedicated Print Room, the role primarily provides internal print services to administrative and teaching staff, and its external business entities. This includes the provision of print solutions to meet client needs, recommendation of stock and finishing fit for purpose, and support to the Community Engagement Departments’ marketing and communication activities.
Duties;
* Confidently coordinate the day to day running of the College’s digital printing environment, as an individual officer and as part of a team, working confidently with digital presses and relevant software systems.
* Negotiate with internal and external clients in order to deliver on completing print priorities in a calm and efficient manner, supported by quality record keeping, attention to detail and print flow management.
* Assist staff with troubleshooting problems as they arise in regard to the other Fuji Xerox photocopiers on campus, as well as replacing toners, drum cartridges, and other consumables.
* Perform basic design edits (such as typesetting, file handling, file imposition, etc.), working with the Adobe Creative Cloud programs, (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat) (where relevant).
* Daily provision of quality print solutions to meet client needs, including the use of finishing equipment such as guillotines, laminators, binding equipment, trimmers; with a strong emphasis on OHS principles.
* Order and organise stock for printing use (such as paper, cartridges, and other printery requirements).
* Assist with the printing, cutting, folding, and finishing of a variety of print materials in General Digital print.
* Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on digital printing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
* Prepare digital files for printing, including colour adjustments, layout, and impositions.
* Maintain accurate job records and documentation.
About you: - Qualifications, Certifications and Work-related Experience:
> Proven experience working in a digital printing environment running Fuji Xerox digital presses, or similar digital presses, along with proven experience operating RIP software.
> Proven experience using print finishing equipment such as guillotines, laminators, binding equipment, trimmers, and other equipment as required, with an emphasis on OHS principles.
> Knowledge of copyright law, use of Creative Commons (licensed content).
> Demonstrated competency working in a PC environment and relevant software packages (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel).
> Experience with basic design work, (such as typesetting, file handling, file imposition, etc.). Working with the Adobe Creative Cloud programs (InDesign, Illustrator, > Photoshop, and Acrobat) would be highly advantageous but not necessary.
> Experience using Outlook.
> Experience with EzeScan preferred but not essential.
> Efficient time management and commitment to deadlines is essential.
> Ability to understand and follow job order instructions.
> Attention to detail is a must.
> You must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
> Tertiary qualifications at Certificate level 4 or equivalent qualifications relevant to the position.
> Relevant qualifications and/or experience to the Key Responsibilities of the role.
> Knowledge of copyright law, use of Creative Commons (licensed content).
> Working with Children accreditation (Blue Card) or ability to obtain this accreditation.
